The advantages of aluminum helidecks:
Lightweight (as much as 60% less than conventional steel)
This results in:
- Perfect solution for platforms with weight limitations.
- Possibility to cantilever the helideck structure out of the platform, floater or vessel.
- It minimally affects the Center of Gravity for floaters and vessels.
- For Jack up rigs and lift boats, it can increase lifting capacity, due to the weight saving.
Sea water and marine environment resistant, due to an excellent corrosion resistance

- No maintenance on the structure, no paint inspection, no repairs;

Aluminum's non sparking characteristic makes it an essential material for use in highly flammable or explosive areas such as oil and gas platforms. With regard to accidents or emergencies it reduces the risk of fire significantly.
