History

In 1963, 57-year old Jacobus Johannes Bayards sets up a workshop for the construction of aluminum and stainless steel in Nieuw- Lekkerland, a village on the banks of the river Lek. Over the following years, the company continued to grow steadily, designing and constructing a wide range of products predominantly in aluminum.

Through the following decades, Bayards built up a considerable reputation in the Shipbuilding, Defense, Civil Construction and Offshore industry. Always with aluminum as the core material.

Just before the new millennium, new management took over and helped Bayards to grow into a medium size company, with a 20,000 square meter site area and 5,000 square meters of construction workshops, operating at an international level with additional sales branches in Italy and Singapore and several sales representatives throughout the world.

In 2004 Bayards scored the biggest project in its history - 400 hulls for a brand new reconnaissance vehicle for the Dutch and German ministry of Defense. In order to deliver this project Bayards invested in a brand new state of the art production hall and acquired one of Europe's largest 5-axal, high speed and high precision gantry milling machines.

In the beginning of 2007 Bayards expanded its production facilities with Bayards Dintelmond. A new construction site of 4000 square meters and a total site area of 12000 square meters became available to handle bigger projects for the future.

In 2007 Bayards established a new business entity called Bayards Danstir. This entity enables Bayards to use friction stir welding, a unique technology in the European aluminum industry.

Today Bayards is assembling aluminum helicopter platforms globally, continuously supplying the world's leading super yacht builders with aluminum superstructures, delivering regular batches of Fennek reconnaissance vehicles for the Dutch military and serving many other markets.

With two large production facilities equipped with state of the art machinery and highly skilled labor in combination with world wide representation we are set to provide the world with more solutions in aluminum in the future.
